Full description

Hydraulic ram.
E. Rose (NAU).

Under circular brick building, 19th or 20th century, with concrete domed roof. Two acorn cylinders alone visible;
disused. ?Earlier flint and brick rectangular building adjacent. At junction of river and dyke to east - probably controlled level of lake.

The pump is now restored and working in a conservation centre. It is in fact said to have pumped water for estate use to a tank on top of the hill.
