Name:All Saints' Church, Morston

Summary

A medieval and later parish church. The tower and nave date to the 12th and 13th centuries. The nave aisles and chancel were constructed during the early 14th century, with the porches added and alterations carried out in the 15th and 16th centuries. The tower was damaged by lightning in 1743 and the whole church was restored in the 19th century. Inside is the base of a painted rood screen of about 1480. A tomb to the Butter family in the graveyard was constructed in 1785.

Full description

Basically Norman tower and nave, extended with aisles and chancel early 14th century. Porches and alterations 15th/16th century. Damaged by lightning 1743. Restored 19th century. Good painted screen base circa 1480 and royal arms. Listed grade I.
Butter tomb 1785, 'A Batty Langley Gothic Order', listed grade II.
