The cropmarks of the Roman road running west out of the Roman town of Venta Icenorum (NHER 9786) are visible on aerial photographs. This section of road forms the eastern extent of the road that is intermittently visible running west from the town, see NHER 52027 for overall parent record.

Full description

April 2009. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of the Roman road running west out of the Roman town of Venta Icenorum (NHER 9786) are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S6). This section of road forms the eastern extent of the road that is intermittently visible running west from the town, see NHER5 2027 for overall parent record. The site is centred on TG 2223 0353. The parchmark over the compacted and metalled road varies in width from 2.5m to 8m. Roadside and flanking ditches running to either side of the road surface are visible intermittently.
