Summary
Two rectangular enclosures and other features are visible as cropmarks and earthworks on aerial photographs. A geophysical survey has recorded linear features that may be archaeological. The enclosures probably date to the Roman period, and Roman pottery, coins and casting waste has been found on the site. Iron Age and medieval pottery has also been found during fieldwalking.

1961.
Cropmarks of small enclosures on St Joseph aerial photographs.
1981.
These are in part visible as small earthworks in pasture.

Winter 1983 to 1984. In two westernmost fields of this part of the earthwork complex.
Found in rabbit-scrapes and mole-hills during earthwork survey.

Under good grass cover, summer grazing by cattle. Some rabbit disturbance and few cattle 'scrapes'.

Much more cattle poaching round gates and troughs. An odd feature is a double fence that runs across the site northeast to southwest with long grass between, like an old drove yet with no access at either end and not appearing on the aerial photographs.
