Summary
This timber-framed farmhouse dates to the 17th and 18th centuries. It has a quaint two level reed thatched roof which is the likely result of two building phases. These two phases also account for the building being one and a half storeys in height, which is unusual. Some of the building fabric is constructed from red brick but otherwise the exterior is whitewashed plaster work. A later lean-to has been added at the north gable.

Full description
This farmhouse dates to the 17th and 18th centuries. It has a timber frame with plastered and whitewashed walls although the south gable and part of east wall are made from red brick. The roof is made of reed-thatch with gabled ends. It stands one and half storeys high as the result of probably two builds, with the roof line at two levels. The east façade has four 20th century casements, containing two-light windows with glazing bars: the two ground floor ones are set in the red brick wall with segmental heads with the other two set in swept dormers. The south gable is constructed from red brick with tumbled-in parapet and internal chimney stack. The ridge stack is at the change of level in roof line. The central entrance door is in the east wall of northern range. The west wall is plastered and whitewashed with south gable return in brick and 19th century casements. There is a thatched dormer at the northwest corner and a later lean-to has been added at the north gable.
