Full description

March 1984. Listed, Grade II.
Listing Description:
Cottages. About 1820. Gault brick façade, red brick returns and rear, 20th century flat pantiled roof. 3 storey pedimented centre tower with flanking single bay wings and returned single bay wings, 2 storeys forming 'U' plan. Simple brick Neo-classical style, similar to Samuel Wyatt designs for the contemporary Holkham estate. Centre piece with ground floor bay with 2 doors possibly inserted in original open arched entrance, flush rubbed brick relieving arch above. Attic with one 2 light casement with dentil eaves cornice pediment above. Flanking bays with single ground floor and first floor casements; at first floor as half dormers under pediments. Returned wings with single ground floor cross-windows and single first floor casements. Moulded brick eaves, one ridge stack to each returned wing, two to cross wing and one to tower with moulded parapets with dentils.
