Summary
Earthworks of ditches or channels, of possible medieval to post medieval date, are visible on aerial photographs. Two sections of ditch are present on different alignments. It is possible that they had their origin as natural channels and that they were incorporated into the drainage pattern during the medieval or post medieval period.

January 2006. Norfolk NMP.
Earthworks of curvilinear ditches or channels, of possible medieval to post medieval date, are visible on aerial photographs (S1). These earthworks are centred on TG 4976 0975 in an area of former marshland south of the river Bure. Two sections of ditch are present on different alignments. It is possible that they had their origin as natural channels and that they were incorporated into the drainage pattern during the medieval or post medieval period.

These earthworks have been recorded and interpreted as a complete saltworking site by Mr Barratt-Leonard, the occupant of Six Mile House. Details are to be published in his forthcoming book.
