Full description
September 2005. Norfolk NMP.
The earthworks of a small ring ditch, interpreted as a post medieval stack stand, are visible on aerial photographs within marshes to the south of the Waxham New Cut, Sea Palling (S1). Other ring ditches, interpreted as possible stack stands have been mapped in the area, see NHER 42059 and 60 and 42071. The site is centred on TG 4233 2573 and the ditch is 9m in diameter. To the south of this in 1943 are a series of more recent stack stands (S1). The size range of this ring ditch falls well within the general range of other circular features identified as possible stack stands from aerial photographs (S2, page 553 to 4).
