Summary
A World War Two military site is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1945 and 1946. At least five buildings and a pillbox (NHER 32455) are visible, surrounded by a compound of barbed wire. This would have formed part of the Coastal Battery site to the immediate east (NHER 24184). Nothing remains above ground.

Full description
March 2003. Norfolk NMP.
A World War Two military area/coastal defence site, consisting of about five buildings and a pillbox (NHER 32455) located within a compound of barbed wire, is clearly visible on RAF 1945 (S1) and 1946 (S2-4) aerial photographs. This would have formed part of the Coastal Battery site to the immediate east, see NHER 24184 for full description of this site. The remains of it are also visible on RAF 1952 images (S5). It is located on Cley Eye at NGR TG0481 4524 in the area of the current coastguard lookout, and is approximately 90m by 130m in size.

The site was visited and no remains were found visible above ground.
