Full description

May 2005. Norfolk NMP.
Part of a ring ditch is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs (S1) to (S3), centred at TG 4845 1643. It is most likely to be the site of a Bronze Age round barrow, part of barrow cemetery NHER 27342. Although the ring ditch is only partially visible, it appears to be roughly circular in shape and measures approximately 13m in diameter. It seems to be respected by the linear ditches (also visible as cropmarks) which surround it. These form part of a field system of probable Bronze Age date (NHER 27338), presumably dating to later in the Bronze Age than the barrow cemetery. A central pit within the ring ditch may mark an associated burial.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 6 May 2005.
