Summary

Metal-detecting here in 2004 and 2006 recovered a variety of metal objects. Finds of note included a medieval Papal bulla of Urban VI, a medieval seal matrix with fish motif, part of a Roman folding razor and two post-medieval thimbles. Metal-detecting in 2011 recovered a post-medieval harness mount and mount and pendant leaf from a sword belt hanger.

Full description

August-September 2004. Metal-detecting.
1 Roman folding razor handle and 1 hollow-cast steelyard weight.
3 medieval coins and 1 jetton.
2 medieval/post-medieval thimbles and 1 ewer handle.
3 post-medieval coins, 1 jetton, 2 coin weights, 1 purse bar, 1 vessel rim fragment (high lead content), 2 lead weights (1/2oz), 1 harness mount and 1 tinned buckle frame.
