Summary
A series of probable medieval linear ditches banks, possible extractive pits and possible enclosures or structures are visible on RAF 1943 and Meridian Airmaps vertical aerial photographs. These features are within an area formerly recorded under NHER 3360.

Previously recorded under NHER 3360.
June 2003. NMP.
A series of fragmentary linear ditches and banks that probably represent medieval settlement and farming practice associated with the deserted medieval settlement of Hardwick (NHER 38259) (S1). There are three large and irregular holes or quarries within the area, and one with more regular sides (S1). These may be large extraction pits, possibly for clay. It is possible that all of these features are medieval in date although some may also be post-medieval. Information from (S1), (S2) and (S3).
