Full description

September 1986. On house plot.
Topsoil visible down to 45cm near northwest corner of building but composition of spoil heap indicated natural boulder clay not much deeper than this. Intense search of all available surfaces produced one sherd medieval unglazed. Building rubble all 18th to 19th century.
Plot occupied only by garden shed since 19th century. Footing trenches had already been filled with concrete to a depth of 300 to 450mm when inspected
