Full description

October 2002. Norfolk NMP.
A possible earthwork round barrow or circular mound is visible on RAF aerial photographs from 1950 (S1). The mound is clearly visible when viewed in stereo within the arable field, which appears to have a short/early crop on it. The mound is located at TG 0716 4094 and is 13.5m in diameter. It is possible that this raised circular area is a natural hillock or that it is a mound of material associated with the pit to the immediate east. However due to its circularity and close proximity to many Bronze Age barrow and ring ditch sites, there does remain a possibility that it is the remains of a round barrow. This mound may now have been ploughed flat.
S. Massey (NMP), 30 April 2003.
