Summary

Metal detecting in 2004 recovered a Late Neolithic scraper, three Roman and one medieval coins, as well as a number of medieval and post medieval metal objects. Further work recovered a medieval copper alloy gilt horse harness pendant, dating to the 13th century.

Full description

January-February 2004. Metal-detecting.
1 Late Neolithic flint scraper (on secondary flake, steep retouch unpatinated, greyish-brown flint).
3 Roman coins.
1 medieval coin, 1 buckle frame, 1 horse harness suspension stud (gilt), 1 horse harness pendant (gilt) and 1 tailors thimble/sewing ring.
1 medieval/post-medieval purse bar fragment.
1 post-medieval bridle boss (tinned, umbonate).

1 medieval copper alloy gilt horse harness pendant, (circular with cast relief decoration in form of flower with central boss within eight radiating pairs of petals, suspension-loop missing. Diameter 19mm. 13th century.
