Summary
A late medieval transitional period (15th to 16th century) pottery sherd was recovered from this area in 1990. A watching brief undertaken during the excavation of tree planting pits at this site in 2011 recorded no archaeologically significant features or deposits. The pits were shallow and disturbed only soil deposits and a modern make-up layer. No finds were recovered.

February 1990. Stray Find.
Found "due East of [NHER] 150N", at junction of Crown Road/Rose Avenue:
1 medieval/post-medieval pottery sherd (Late Medieval Transitional ware).
Donated to Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2001.271).

Previously mapped as a point at [1], the mapped extent of this record has now been expanded in order to document the results of archaeological work in this area.

January 2011. Watching Brief.
Monitoring of excavation of tree-planting pits.
No archaeologically significant remains were identified, with topsoil, subsoil and a make-up layer being the only deposits disturbed during these works. The make-up layer was modern and consisted mainly of brick and mortar rubble.
