1944 and 1948. RAF air photography.
A probable medieval saltern is visible as an earthwork and cropmark at TF 6498 2824 southwest of Wolferton.
A feature on the mound at TF 6496 2823 may mark the site of a saltcote.
The mound is one of a number in this area and is overlain by a later sea bank on its northwest side.
