Summary

Aerial photographs taken in 1996 show the cropmarks of a large causewayed ring ditch (now recorded under NHER 57881) and several field boundaries at this location. The field boundaries are possibly post medieval in date, while the ring ditch may be of Bronze Age date. A number of other anomalies in this field may also be archaeological in origin.

CAUSEWAYED RING DITCH IS NOW RECORDED UNDER 57881. THIS NUMBER NOW APPLIES TO LINEARS AND POSSIBLE FEATURES.

15 July 1996. NLA aerial photography. NGR amended from that below.
Cropmark of large causewayed ring ditch, located at TG 2194 2694.
Two of the causeways appear to be opposed giving it a hengiform appearance.
A fairly regular series of field boundaries traverse the field diagonally. These may be post medieval in date.

Very clear circular enclosure with single narrow causeway/entrance.
