In 2001 single fragments of post-medieval pottery and clay tobacco pipe were recovered during the excavation of a cable trench. No archaeologically significant features or deposits were identified.

Full description

June-July 2001. Watching Brief.
Observation of trench dug for new electricity cable running between Bacton and North Walsham (Field 1).
No archaeologically significant features or deposits observed.
Unstratified finds recovered included:
1 post-medieval pottery sherd and 1 clay tobacco pipe fragment.
See report (S1) for further details. The results of this work are also summarised in (S2).
The associated archive has been deposited with the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2017.442).
