Full description

1998-1999. Metal detecting and field walking next to bungalows. NCM Enquiry No E1206.
A. Rogerson (NLA) identified:
Medieval unglazed: one ?jug rim, one oxidised bowl rim, seven body sherds.
One body sherd medieval, probably glazed.
One oval-section handle Medieval glazed; one late medieval/transitional body sherd
One calcinel flint 'pot boiler'.
V. Fryer (NCM) identified:
Heavy cast Ae Late Saxon stirrup terminal/finial. Slight collar at top, two central protrusions and heavy squared riege around base. Upper half hollow at rear for insertion of stirrup side bar. Central crude slot for stirrup base. The design is a very sylised animal head. 11th century. Polaroid taken.
