Summary
This is reputedly the site of a Roman temple, and Roman tiles, a tessera and other building materials indicate that there was a Roman building on the site. The building was probably associated with the nearby villa, NHER 3575. Roman coins and metalwork have been found on the site by metal-detectorists. The cropmark of a medieval building is visible on aerial photographs, and earthworks of unknown date were visible on the site until the 1950s. Pottery and metalwork dating from the Iron Age to the post-medieval period have been found during fieldwalking and metal-detecting on the site.
