Full description

1996. Metal detecting finds.
Roman centre-looped mortar. Bovid-head terminals, very square suspension loop. 33.05g. See (S1 and S2).
Medieval X-shaped mount with some gilding, moulded centre with circular hole. Iron rivet in each 'arm' near terminal. Terminals have moulded 'toes' or feet. Surface of each arm has double contour line with diagonal hatching between. The 'arms' of the cross may be 'legs' in acrobatic stance. (Box mount?)
