Summary

Metal detecting from 1995 to 2003 recovered a number of objects from the Bronze Age, and Roman to post medieval periods. This includes a Bronze Age spearhead, Roman brooch fragment, and a number of Middle Saxon and Late Saxon coins and a St Edmund Memorial coin.

January/February 1995.
Middle Saxon equal-armed brooch with quatrefoil-shaped lugs.
Polaroid (S1) in NCM.
Identified by J. Davies (NCM).

1996. Metal detector finds.
St Edmund Memorial coin (report by J. Davies (NCM) in file). [1]
[2] reports previous finds of other Saxon coins (not sceatta), some Roman coins, the odd Roman brooch, all scattered. Not seen by NLA/NCM.
N.B. Only one Saxon coin found to west of track.
