Summary

Metal detecting here in 1993-94 and 1996 recovered two medieval objects. The first was a 12th century copper alloy object identified as either a seal or a stylus and the second was a gilded medieval buckle.

Full description

1993 or 1994.
Early medieval, probably 12th century. Bronze strip curved along one edge and tapering to a point at one end, broken at the other. Contour line borders. See description in file.

October 1996. Metal detector find.
Gilded medieval buckle, now rather squashed, with narrow bar. Widened outer edge has longitudinal grooves with decayed ? inlay.
