Fieldwork in 1992-93 recorded a 1940 Type 22 polygonal pillbox here. This southeast facing example survived in a good condition and is visible on aerial photographs.

The pillbox described above is visible on aerial photographs (S1-S3) and has been mapped by the Norfolk National Mapping Programme. It may have been placed to defend some World War Two structures sited approximately 100m to the west (NHER 57479) along with another site approximately 325m to the southwest (NHER 57476), both of which are likely to be related to Snetterton airfield (NHER 9068).
