Full description
Former common land, converted to water works after the cholera epidemic of 1849. Pumped water to Lakenham reservoirs (NHER 26482).
Ornamental planting carried out 1852 to 1887.
Avenue led from lodge to east to planted circle; lawns and trees to northeast of yew and holly, and some rare specimens such as a Fagus sylvatica Asplenifola.
Norfolk Historic Gardens Survey graded of regional importance as industrial garden (S1).
