Early 1989. Metal detecting.
A Roman bronze cosmetic palette was recovered during metal detecting. The palette is plain, short and stubby with central loop and a deep channel.
A. Rogerson (NAU), 23 February 1989.

Centre-looped mortar, with mid-green pitted patina. A small very short but heavy casting. The bow has deep plain convex walls with virtually strait rim. The deep U-sectioned groove has a high wear polish. Its asymmetric wear facet has encroached on the rim at either end. The terminals are plain. The plump D- shaped loop has a circular eye.
