Fieldwalking in 1986 by the Fenland Survey recovered a general scatter of prehistoric pot boilers, as well as noting a concentration of pot boilers on a hill slope above the silt fen.

Full description

8 December 1986. Fenland fieldwalking very well weathered soil, cereal. Field in southeast angle of lane to Middleton.
Context 1 general scatter of pot boilers (no Fenland ref).
Context 2 at 6379 1422 concentration pot boilers moderate to abundant but no other finds. On hill slope above silt fen. 63m E-W x 32m N-S at 5.2m OD. WHW 4 (S1).
