In the winter of 1985 to 1986 a badly corroded Roman rear-hook brooch was recovered from this area, which may also have been the findspot of three medieval coins.

Full description

Winter 1985-6.
Badly corroded rear-hook brooch, spring pin and foot missing.
NB said to have been found this in the same place as the three hammered silver coins reported by finder to NCM two or three years previously - there is no trace of these in NHER. Were they found somewhere else or never reported?
