Summary
An L-shaped pond, possibly part of a medieval moat, is marked on an Ordnance survey map. It was filled in in 1958 and no trace can be seen today. Observations during construction works in 1999 noted only recent features.

Possible moat at Moat Farm, Norton Corner.
L-shaped pond on west and north sides of house shown on 6 inch Ordnance Survey map (S1).

Monitoring of groundworks for extention to outbuilding.
Three modern features and one undatable feature visible in footing trench. These include a include a brick-lined rectangular pit described as "for horses, carts or sheep" - which sounds something like a saw pit.
No trace of moat, which has been filled in since 1958.
