Name:Iron Age, Roman, Early Saxon, medieval and post-medieval finds

Summary

In 1973 several sherds of Roman Samian ware pottery sherds were recovered at this location. Further Roman pottery sherds and a number of medieval sherds were found in 2007. Metal-detecting between 2011 and 2017 recovered Iron Age, Roman and medieval coins as well as Late Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Late Iron Age/Roman brooch; Roman brooches, possible furniture fittings, a harness mount, hair pin, nail cleaner, bead and spoon; medieval buckles and strap ends; an Early Saxon brooch; a medieval/post-medieval harness mount and dress hook; and post-medieval harness mounts.

Decorated bowl, form 30, 2nd century.
Stamped dish, form 18, AD 60-80, DRA(VCVS).
