Record Details

NHER Number:19705
Type of record:Monument
Name:Site of medieval East Hall Manor and remains of post medieval barn

Summary

In 1983 a number of finds were retrieved from the ploughed surface here, including part of a quern, Roman pottery sherds. In addition, pieces of flint rubble and building footings were noted here, possibly belonging to a post medieval barn. A subsequent investigation of the site in 1989 suggested it may have been a moated manorial site and documentary sources suggest that East Hall Manor may once have stood here.
