Summary
In 1956 ploughing in this field revealed the flint foundations of buildings. Subsequent aerial photography in 1977 showed the soilmarks of enclosures, which could relate to old field boundaries. Metal detecting in this area during 1995-97 recovered a selection of objects including a Roman enamelled stud, a medieval jetton, a Roman coin of Valerian II and a Late Saxon disc brooch.
