Full description
June 1983. Northeast of castle. Surface find.
Glass bead, very thick, dark blue glass with white spiral stripes. Overall diameter 3cm, diameter of central perforation 0.7cm, 1.3cm thick, piece broken off one side. Compare Early Saxon beads on display in NCM (1983).
Identified by E. M. James (KLM), 7 June 1983.
Compare however with bead possibly Roman from Hockwold site NHER 5351 (both on slide).
A. Rogerson (NAU) suggests Viking (Information from NCM).
