Full description
1982. Discovered during National Trust Survey of Felbrigg Park, see (S1).
Hollow way of some size, it is not aligned on the hall but continues the line southwards of the drive from Aylmerton
Gate. Indeed (S2) shows the drive turning abruptly off the start of the hollow way, and not the present more gentle curve. However it is difficult to see where its southern end leads to.
No road on this course on (S3).
Probably a pre park road. A large number of other earthworks are noted on the survey, but apart from this one, and site NHER 6630, they all seem to be past or present wood boundary banks, ha-ha's or drainage gulleys not apparently pre park.
E. Rose (NAU) 25 March 1983.
17 November 1983.
North end only visited, owing to presence of livestock. Slight mound, linear, but no trace of ditches each side. Not a
hollow way but suggested as ditched road. However, extremely doubtful if intentional feature at all.
E. Rose (NAU)
For the park survey and the other earthworks now see NHER 29822.
