Metal detecting in 1981 and 1982 recovered Roman coins and a French medieval silver penny. 18th and 19th century material was found on the same site, including a piece of millstone, when a hedge was dug out.

1981. North of site of Common Farm.
Metal detecting by unknown person from East Harling.
Four Roman coins of which only two seen by NCM.

2. Ae of Constantius II, GLORIA EXERCITVS, 2 standards, AD 330-5;
