Full description

Pre 1981. Stray Find.
Found at [1]:
1 Neolithic part-polished flint axehead. See drawing (S1).

This object was originally recorded as having been found "a few years" before 1981, on the surface of "a field on Amies Farm" (=Sandhills Farm - farmhouse at TG 2980 2795). This information had been received by the NCM but the object itself had apparently not been seen by its staff. It was recorded as an unprovenanced find from Worstead (see (S2)). It appears that the object was subsequently seen and drawn, at which point the NCM's records were updated with a North Walsham provenance and an eight figure grid reference [1] (both of which also appear on the drawing).
