W. Milligan (NCM) 18 May 1981.
Enclosure map 1860 NRO marks this field as Old Brick Kiln Breck. Does this suggest the pot boilers may be remains of post medieval kilns? However it is also true that fields which produce burnt material may sometimes have been given the name Brickkiln or Brickle because of this, when there were in fact no kilns there.
E. Rose (NAU) 2 February 1987.
