Summary
During 1969-70 a number of prehistoric flint tools and sherds of Saxon Thetford Ware pottery were recovered from this field. It is also worth noting that an aerial photograph of this location taken in 1946 shows some linear cropmarks, although their date and meaning are not known.

Catalogue gives the following.
25 October 1969.
Flint scrapers (37H).
'Poor scrapers' (49I).
2 May 1970.
'A Saxon sherd'.
Also 'another Saxon sherd from Hog Yard near the Brick Kilns' (i.e. the field to the south).
Material not seen as not kept separate, but with material seen, all pottery referred to as 'Saxon' is Thetford-type ware, Ipswich Ware being specifically called Middle Saxon.
