Summary
This is the site of a former post medieval brickworks. The brickworks was altered at some point prior to 1930 before undergoing major alterations in 1952. In 1981 the brickworks was removed after falling from use, with the site reverting to agricultural use. Research has suggested that a series of tunnels linked the brickworks to the clay pit in Ingham parish.

Full description
Brickworks.
On 6in OS 1957, revised pre 1930 (major changes 1952), one large building shown as in use and four as roofless.
1981. Totally removed.
One modern house on site.
Remainder all reclaimed for agriculture.

Probably the site referred to as 'just outside Stalham' in (S1).
Sketch in (S1) shows two tall rounded pyramidal kilns said to resemble oasthouses, i.e. like that still at Kiln Cliffs, Mundesley.

Description by Norfolk Industrial Archaeological Society in file; includes story of tunnels under road to connect to clay pit in Ingham parish. Brick presented to NCM. It was stamped MW in its frog.
