Full description
In old pit, remains of lime kiln.
Also a brick kiln, three pointed tunnels under a grated floor.
Important bat roost - do not enter in winter.

P. Lambley (NCM) states that an industrial archaeologist (name unknown) who had visited the site was not happy with the structure as a brick kiln and believes it may be for drying the lime or something similar.
However source [1] is happy with the structure as a brick kiln. The lime kiln he says is overgrown with bushes in 1992 and only a quarter remains. He states there are four chalk mine tunnels in the sides of the pit.

As of 1992 only a quarter of the structure remains, however a wire fence has been installed to keep out sheep and people.
