Near east end on both floors a slit-like window, staircase?
(S1) confuses name of this house with location of Hall Farm (NHER 14206), his description applies to both.
Source [1] states that there is a winding stair with a 'beautifully facetted' newel post.
Visited by E. Rose (NLA) 2 March 1995.
(S2) confirms the 17th century winding stair and also notes a 19th century dogleg stair and wing.
Dates main house to 16th century altered in 17th century.
See description for full details which also says house is basically timber framed.
E. Rose (NLA) 18 November 1998.
(S3) has corrected the mistake regarding the location of High Ash Farmhouse made in the first edition.
H. Mellor (HES), 29 April 2016.
