Record Details

NHER Number:16177
Type of record:Monument
Name:Roman, Saxon and medieval pottery sherds

Summary

Prior to 1980 a large number of Saxon pottery sherds were discovered here. Subsequent fieldwalking here in 1981 recovered numerous Roman and medieval pottery sherds, mostly unglazed, and including fragments of medieval Grimston Ware and Roman samian ware. The quantity of these finds suggests that this may have been an area of settlement at various times.
