Full description
1978. Found on north bank of River Little Ouse, near Leylands Farm. In material dredged from river.
Late Saxon iron sword, completed but in two pieces.
A. Gregory (NAU) 5 February 1980.
Sword had been 'killed' by bending it, with a hole drilled at the bend; this had caused it to later break.
