Summary

Saxon, medieval and post medieval pottery fragments, together with post medieval clay pipe stems, were found on the surface in 1979. Metal-detecting between 2018 and 2019 recovered a Neolithic flint core and scraper and a Neolithic/Bronze Age possible arrowhead roughout; Roman, medieval to post-medieval pottery sherds; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins, a post-medieval jetton and token, and undated, Roman and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Roman brooch fragment; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval harness mount, thimble, and seal matrix; a medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragments; a sword scabbard chape, pilgrim badge with an engraving of St. Nicholas, and post-medieval harness mounts, a crotal bell fragment and furniture fitting.

1979. Fritton, north of church by Hempnall Road. On surface. [1].
Two Thetford Ware sherds; three stoneware sherds (one Westerwald), eleven post medieval sherds. Three clay pipe stems.
Also four medieval sherds.
