Summary

Fieldwalking here in 1978-1979 recovered prehistoric flints, Roman sherds in a pit with carbonised grain, a medieval strap end and fragment of a key along with pieces of Roman glass. Subsequent fieldwalking in 1987 recorded a scatter of prehistoric pot boilers.

1978-1979. Bypass fieldwalking.
Worked flints.
Iron Age, Roman and medieval pottery, including Roman sherds in pit and ditch with carbonised grain.
Roman coins and glass.

Found with metal detector.
Medieval coins and metalwork.

1987. Fenland fieldwalking.
Pot boiler site and medieval sherds.
