An old bakehouse, now converted, the east gable wall of which is 16th or 17th century in date. The rest of the building is 19th century, although imitating the earlier style.

Full description

17 August 1977. Visit.
Old bakehouse.
East gable wall original with chequerwork, 16th or 17th century.
Stepped gable above is a 19th century restoration or replacement.
This probably also applies to the unusual stepped dentils on the eaves of the façade (they are identical to those on some of the 19th century park lodges).
Classical doorcase.
Rear parallel section of house added in the 19th century in imitation of the old style.
Now rented as a cottage from Heydon Estates.
Excellent condition.
