Summary

A former medieval park, containing a medieval moated site and cropmarks, including those of two possible Bronze Age barrows. Metal detecting and fieldwalking over the years has recovered a range of objects, including Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post medieval pottery fragments, Roman coins and a spoon, medieval coins, a pilgrim bottle and badge, and a post medieval buckle.

Full description

Old Park. Former medieval park. Contains moated site and cropmarks, including sites of two possible barrows.

Before 1974. Roman sherds etc found.

1988. Roman sherds and coin found.

Roman coins, metalwork, pottery.
Iron Age, medieval pottery.

Before 21 April 1999. Surface finds while metal detecting.
Roman greyware: one bowl rim, one bead and flange bowl rim, two basal sherds (including one in coarse sandy fabric) and two body sherds.
