July 2022. Aylsham and Brampton Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
The cropmarks of a probable Bronze Age ring ditch (see above) are seen on aerial photographs (S1-S3). The ring ditch most likely relates to the site of a Bronze Age round barrow. Curvilinear cropmarks which most likely relate to geological features are also seen across the area on S1. It has been previously suggested (see above) that a second possible adjoining ring ditch is visible. However, it is probable that this feature is natural rather than archaeological in origin and has therefore not been mapped. The position of the monument polygon has been updated to location of the feature as seen on the aerial photographs.
J. Powell (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 06 July 2022.
