Summary
Berry Hall was originally constructed in 1532 by Thomas Bury. The present building comprises a south range of 16th- or 17th-century date and an adjoining 16th-century wing to the north. The latter is said to have been extended to the north in the 17th century and there are 18th-century additions. See NHER 11951 for details of a medieval moated site and associated remains within the grounds of Berry Hall.

Berry Hall. Previously recorded under NHER 11951.
November 1951. Listed, Grade II*.
Listing Description excerpt:
"Built in 1532 by Thomas Bury. Flint with brick dressings. Pantile roofs, some black-glazed with parapeted gable ends, some stepped.
16th- or 17th-century south range; two storeys and attic…At each end a chimney stack with twin octagonal shafts. Interior: early 18th-century staircase with moulded balusters, and room with early 17th-century panelling and chimneypiece.
16th-century wing adjoining north with two-storeyed porch with stepped gables and double-chamfered brick four-centred arch doorway. Interior has heavily moulded ceiling beams. Said to have been extended in 17th-century with stepped gable at north end, also two storeys and attic. East side has 18th-century additions, two gables, one rebuilt stepped gable…"

A garden wall of probable 17th-century date to the north of the hall and 18th-century boundary walls to the west and south of the hall were listed Grade II in 1979. These are now recorded as NHERs 68963 and 69964 respectively.
